The MIS Junior Varsity football team has shown resilience and teamwork throughout the fall season. Their most recent matches took place at MIS`s home ground against Vienna, where they faced tough competition but continued to improve. The team practices after school two times a week, focusing on fitness, passing, and communication to prepare for the final tournament later this semester.
“I really enjoy coaching this team,” said Coach Dean. “They’re fun kids with a great skill level, and my job is to help them become an even better team.”
Coach Deans describes the players as energetic and excited, but also emphasizes the need to help them stay focused during practices and games. He believes the team’s strong bond is what makes them stand out on the field.
“They all know each other really well, so they have a good vibe with each other,” Coach Dean added. “We remind them to stay motivated by keeping their eyes on the big tournament at the end of the season.”
Training sessions tend to be serious, but players also find moments for laughter and support. When a teammate is feeling low, others help to boost their spirits and maintain a positive atmosphere.
“When a teammate is down, I just say, ‘Come on, man, next one, you got the next
one,’” said John. “After a win, we’re all just happy and share the emotions together.”
The team trains several times a week, focusing on skill drills and teamwork. They are hopeful that their hard work will pay off in the tournament later this season. With their strong spirit and team work the mis football team is ready to fight any challenges that come their way.
