Impressions from the ISST Basketball Tournament
By Dora F., Grade 10
March 6-7th, MIS hosted the International School Sports Tournaments (ISSTs.) Several Basketball teams from around the world came to play games at the FAB against each other. MIS also had a Junior Cheer Team (Ms Lieke’s PE Class) cheering on the players and putting on a fantastic performance during half time.
MIS’s Student Journalists were lucky enough to take photos of the event and interview some players.

Our journalists were lucky enough to interview some of the team, and even got feedback on our new FAB building, courtlines, referees and school spirit.
The Vienna team told us “Against the MIS team, we had really good ref’s” before continuing on to say how more time should be designated for the students to show up and watch the games. “These stands, they’re big but they’re empty.”

We also got feedback from the team from Zurich, who said they liked our changing rooms, an opinion that was also reciprocated by some other teams that we interviewed. But “when you dribble, the whole floor vibrates which was kinda weird” which was backed up by the American School of London, who also said that the floors felt hollow.

All in all, there were great games, and the sportsmanship among all the teams and players was amazing, and we can not wait until the next ISST’s, and with the next ISST’s, will come another new article covering it. That’s all for now, check out our other new stories on the Buchhof Bulletin.
