The Grade 8 Winter Market and the Behind the scenes.
By Chiara R. and Vasilisa K, Grade 9.
Last week, grade 8 hosted the annual winter market, an exciting event not only for the organizers but also for the visitors and other grade levels. This great event has already existed for more than 20 years and the aim always is to have fun, be most creative, and collect as much money as possible for charity. This year the students collected 5004 euros, which will be donated to the Refugee Center in Starnberg. An additional goal is to create as little waste as possible: last year 33 buckets of waste were collected, while this year the 8th graders were able to reduce them to 25.
As always, the 8th graders have come up with new and creative ideas to impress the visitors by making crafts, cooking/baking or fun activities to interact with the viewers.

Cookies and hot chocolate were very popular in the Winter Market. There were yummy chocolate chip, Christmas cookies and many more. You could even ask for some marshmallows to put in the hot chocolate. (Chiara R./Buchhof Bulletin).

To achieve this project, there was a lot of work and effort done to complete this. Some students used the facilities we have available here at MIS to create their projects, like the Makers Lab, while others used their time at home. Many products were originals, while other popular products were continued from previous years, such as the candles, this year with a fresh new look!
