Are Video Games Really That Good?

Video games are a phenomenon in the modern culture but why?

  Video games are a huge part of many peoples life. The reason many people like it is because it is a a hobby that can infinitely vary. Games such as Roblox or Minecraft have become so popular that anlmost every person in the world has most likely heard of them. In a survey of about 300 middle schoolers in Munich international school 100% of them have played video games before.

    Multiplayer games are very popular but why though? Many people said that their favourite games were Roblox or Minecraft which happens to be multiplayer and mainly played with friends and other online members of the video game community. Multiplayer seems to be very popular because you can play with friends that you know and can provide more competitive gameplay. However single player games could be more favourable to some if they like less competitive gameplay and might not have as much time to play and improve their skill so they would rather play through a story and take their time.

“Super smash bros is my second favourite video game,” Misha B., Grade 7, said. ”I love it because I can play it with my friends”.

   Fast paced games are really good for people who want to be exhilarated. some very popular games of the genre is Fortnite call of duty and battlefield. A lot of people seek that feeling because of winning a very tight game.

 “Fortnite is one of my favourite Games because it’s super Competitive, fast paced and thrilling.” Skye N. , grade 7, said.

Racing games are really popular for kids because it’s a kid friendly game and it can give people the rush of winning a game against friends. A lot of parents also allow their kids to play racing games because that they grew up with games like for an example Mariocart.

“When I was growing up i really liked racing games.” Mr. Colling., learning support teacher, said.

Tetris has been an extremely loved game since the 80s but there are large debates about wether its as iconic as a game like Mario, sonic or pong. Mario is a very old game that has had tons of games that people gave played even to this day. sonic also has tons of games but it has gotten so popular that you can even find 2-3 to shows of it in Netflix alone. Pong is probably the most influential video game in the world because it is widely regarded as the first one, although that doesn’t necessarily translate to the most iconic one. In summary the most iconic game s a highly debated topic that people haven’t found an agreement on.

“The most iconic game of all time is probably something like Tetris because it’s been around since the 80s and its simple yet very fun.” Mr. Collins., learning support teacher, said.

There are a lot of fun new games to look forward to in the future. Lots of sequels to new games have been coming out recently for an example the much anticipated game of hollow knight silksong or the ghost of yotei. In conclusion if you area bored of the games that have been coming out recently there are lots of different upcoming games that appeal to a variety of people.

“ My most anticipated game would probably be black myth zhong Kui because it is a sequel to one of my favourite games.” Misha B., Grade 7, said.
