Has the public bus gotten an upgrade or for some people a downgrade? The public bus schedule has changed. Has it had an effect on students? Let’s find out!

Many people wonder and are curious why the school ordered a second public bus. I have asked Ms. Kellar, Ms. Millette, Ms. Strauss, and some students about their opinion about the change of the public bus system.

At first the public bus would come at 16:05 due to that the school ended at 16:00. Now the timetable of the public bus had been changed. The public bus comes at 16:10 and the new private bus would come at 16:15. The chaos triggered by that is huge because some students still decide to run of the want of catching the first bus. With all the other students going to their buses plus parents coming into the school the tunnel to the parking ground is a huge chaos full of people running, walking or coming from the other direction. The public bus has always been crowded but that was never such a problem because there were two buses 10 minutes apart from each other. Now the bus schedule has been changed and there was too much time between the bus at 16:15. As a result of this the school decided that they needed a second bus. Middle School Principal Ms. Millette said that this solution would only last until the end of the school year.

“There were too many kids trying to get on the bus,” Middle School Principal Ms. Millette said.

You may be asking yourself who will pay for the bus after this school year? The problem is that MIS must explain to the Landratsamt Starnberg that there is the need of having a second public bus. In the moment, the Landratsamt does not see that there is that need of the second bus.

“We are in contact with the Landratsamt that they sent a second bus,” Head of Transportation at MIS Tina Kellar said.

Due to that the bus now is leaving later students that go in the direction of Tutzing miss their first train. The students that must go to Munich used to miss their train with the old timetable. Now the S-bahn timetable was also changed, it is an upgrade for students said EAL teacher Ms. Strauss and Vasilisa K., Grade 8.

“So now wherever I take the first bus or the second bus I can still catch my S-bahn.,” EAL teacher Ms. Strauss said.

Students used to rush to get onto the public bus. Is that still the case? Ms. Millette said that she sees more students that are not rushing to get on the bus because they know that there will be another bus that is available and more comfortable. Other students still rush to the bus because of the want of catching the first bus to have the hope of catching an S-bahn earlier if the early S-bahn is delayed.

“Yes, I still am sprinting right after school,” Mischa B. from Grade 6 said.

Overall, there are highs and lows of having the bus schedule changed and having a second bus coming right after the first bus. Some students choose to still run to catch the first bus while others take it relaxed and wait for the second bus. So, let’s see how the ride on the public bus is going to go on.
