By Eylül M., Grade 10
The UNICEF club in MIS has been running for long years now leaded by 12th graders. The club examines many For further depth on the club, the volunteer is going to be asked the upcoming events and outline of the meeting taking place every week.
UNICEF is a worldwide popular United Nations agency for children stood by volunteers and donations. The purpose in this act is to protect children’s rights and safeguard their future. There are many events taking place in the UNICEF club to introduce the volunteers the full experience of the club. “A new coming up event in UNICEF is the Winter Fest which is everyone’s favourite. Last year this event couldn’t take place due to the heavy icing and snowstorms.” Mia L., Leader[TC2] “In this event backers can bake and sell those items” Aleksa D., Leader. Winter fest is a sale where students sell hand crafted or backed items in means of earning money to donate to UNICEF. This is an event delegated to students for them in specific to host it to enable them into being fully involved in the raising donations and awareness process. “All people in the club contributed” Aleksa D. The members of the club need to contribute to most events and these events are planned beforehand in the Tuesday meetings that the club peruses every week. Thus, this club is planned events like candy raffles and awareness campaigns that are planned in the meetings to eventually speak upon the behalf of the unprivileged members of the society.

It is observed that community and voluntary service like UNICEF is significantly crucial for character development. “Students Start Service because there are required to do so, and later on they realise that this program is very beneficial for them and their development along the way” Jiayi Y., Leader UNICEF 12th Grade. The students get to engage with their passionate topics. As there are many ways that leads to donation, such as backing and selling or hosting an event, this club is an all-inclusive club for students to discover their areas of strength. For instance, in the past UNICEF students have hosted candy raffles, for people that enjoy engaging with people, or drawing activities for awareness for club members that have an artistic strength. “It is one thing to know the benefits of helping but, gaining a global awairness is vital” Jiayi Y. The club provides an opportunity to be fully aware of the universal problems all around the world and as a person of privileged, not underestimating what is happening around us and helping, using the privileges that we have. “As the students build upon their UNICEF location and become a UNICEF leader, it helps with gaining confidence as a speaker. This is mainly on a personal not since, UNICEF have improved on my speaking a lot” Aleksa D.,

UNICEF protects children in providing for them in terms of education, health, and nutrition. Being in knowledge of these beneficial aspects and that as a student you can contribute to this act is a very vital experience in building upon the personal character. “As of looking at popular news channels like BBC, then l realised the severity of these events done by us.” Jiayi Y.
Although this club is a school specific club that runs by students, looking at a global angle, these events carry significance and the impacts that these donations have on the life of the people can’t be overlooked. The several donations from our school club to UNICEF, help in meeting the basic needs of many people, empowering education for children and contribute to all levels of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The personal development is supported with this school club and builds the students to become aware and cognitive participants of the society. There are many activities and events to prepare in UNICEF, and to contribute for the action to the greater good in the world.
UNICEF could be utilized as a tool for guiding students in what they are likings when volunteering. “The club of UNICEF serves varieties of opportunities from meeting the people in need to encouraging the spread of awareness to the unaware pupils.” Jade J., member, Grade 10.
